The Town of Dover Police Department is moving into the new millennium with a commitment to the citizenry of Dover to provide the highest quality of law enforcement service. To achieve this goal we must integrate our traditional responsibility to protect life and property, along with the need to embrace the philosophy of community oriented policing. By doing so, we can create partnerships with our citizens. Working together, we can improve the quality of life in Dover and find new and creative ways to solve problems that we all face.

I believe that the creation of this website will further this ideology. It provides us with a media to facilitate the flow of information between the department and the citizens, and to encourage dialogue and exchange ideas on how to improve our services. The public needs to be aware of how important a role they play in promoting a safe and healthy environment for their children and themselves.
